Continued

Our sweet Diesel dog had his own role in the wedding.
Worst feeling ever not being able to include Ruger, he's so
hyper and would have been in everyones lap.

7 Weeks

Really, where does the time go? I can't believe, 7 weeks ago tomorrow I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off in total panic about the wedding. I look back now and think, well that was silly-it turned out incredible. More incredible than I thought possible.

I'm crossing my fingers that when I arrive home this afternoon there will be a small package containing more photo disks than I'll ever know what to do with! I cannot wait to look back and reflect on June 2, 2012. I know there are things I missed, little details I forgot to really soak in and I know Ashley (photographer) captured them. Even when we watched the film of the ceremony one week after apparently I was so caught up in marital bliss, I didn't even know it was windy. Not a breeze either, like a real wind storm. And I'm usually so observant!

Things are going smoothly in the Nelson household. Scott is busy trying to pave I-86, working the most ridiculous of hours. Some days he's off at 3 in the afternoon, other days in 9pm. Very confusing! I am in the middle of my practicum, unfortunately we are on the down hill side of summer (how sickening!) and I have just about a month before school starts (even more sickening!). How interesting will this final semester be as an Undergrad. It is long overdue and I am ready to get started into the Master's program. Should be an interesting ride.

This week, we also started to put landscaping in our front yard. We had curbing added and now we are adding trees, shrubs, and perennials. I can decorate the inside of a house like no one's business, but when it comes to the outside, I had no idea. There is so much to landscaping that I was not aware of. I really do think we picked some great things and I can't wait until it is all bloomed out. It's really rewarding to know Scott and I are doing this ourselves. We have such a sense of pride when we step back and look at it.

Take a look :) We aren't all the way done, I'm heading to the greenhouse as soon as I'm off today.
We wanted to make sure we had enough space all the way around before I got too crazy and started buying everything... Because really, that's why I wanted to do. I was just a little excited..

Until next time,
-M

First Dance

I'm not sure many of you can appreciate how obsessed I am with Eric Church. Ha. It's a sickness :) But in lieu of our almost 3 weeks of marriage, I thought I would give you a link to our first dance song. This song was on EC 2nd album, Carolina, released in 2009. I knew from the moment I heard it this song would be our first dance. It sums up our relationship the last... oh 12 years.

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

Mr. & Mrs. Nelson

Well we did it!

Saturday was the best day of my life. I walked out of that building with my best friend, my soul mate, and now, my husband. Thank you to all of you who were able to make it. It means so much to Scott and I that you were able to share in our happiness. We appreciate the love and friendship you have all shown us, especially these last 8 months.

We had the most perfect day. From start to end. There may have been 1 or 2 minor things, but nothing that wasn't taken care of immediately. The weather was amazing! I was really nervous in the morning it was going to rain, it was so black toward Scout. But I know our grandparents were watching over us and wouldn't let a little storm clouds get us down :)

Here comes a HUGE list of thank you's to everyone who made our day perfect:

I don't know how many of you are familiar with Beverly (Raymond) Ferro, owner of Designer Blooms by Bev, but she did all my flowers. I just want to tell you how amazing she is!! My floral centerpieces were to die for. I wanted very specific things and she went above and beyond what I ever imagined. My bouquet and my throw bouquet were show stoppers. If you ever need any florals made, please try her out! She is worth ever cent! I just cannot thank her enough.

Kim Hardy, of Unforgettable Weddings, set up the chairs, chair ties, bistro tables, and the base linens. She was so great to work with! With her help, a mix of both of our ideas, and a few creative touches, my tables (inside and out) looked so amazing. I can't even describe how beautiful they were! She is so great at what she does and I highly recommend her!

My cake... wow. Kevin Busick, with Big Daddy Cakes, made our 4-tiered cake. It looked amazing and it tastes magical!! His wife and I are in the same program at ISU and earlier in the year I was talking about trying to find someone to make my cake and she said her husband could do it. I am SO glad I chose him. He is so reasonably priced and does everything by hand. I am at a loss for words, it was so beautifully decorated. I could not have dreamt up a better looking (and tasting!) cake!!

The Popcorn Shop made 2 unique flavors of popcorn exclusively for us and our wedding, and they tasted SO great. Lemon cheesecake and a coconut cheesecake. Scott and I are total popcorn fanatics, so we thought what better way to share our love for popcorn then having a popcorn bar at the wedding! The 2 unique flavors and the buttered popcorn were joined with bags and add-ins that our guests could take as a favor. It was a total hit! For those of you who like popcorn, make sure you go to the Popcorn shop on Oak St. in Pocatello and try what they have. The owners, their daughter Christy (whom is my mom's neighbor), and her kids are such great people and they do great work. We love them!!

Ashley MacKay Photography, Salt Lake City, did all our photos. She is outstanding! At 5 months pregnant, she stood in the heat with us all day and didn't even miss a beat. She was running around making sure to capture every moment. She is such a dream to work with and her pictures are beautiful. I just happened to stumble across her work on Facebook of all places and fell in love instantly. She made sure Scott and I got everything we wanted and if there was something else we wanted, she went above and beyond to get it. She is so great and I cannot wait to share with you all our bridals/groomals and wedding photos. I am in anticipation mode waiting for them to get to me!

My Mom. How did I get sooo lucky? I was barking orders at her from the start of the day and she just took it. If it wasn't for her, I would have totally lost it and went Cybil on everyone :) She cut fruit for our fruit skewers for 2 days straight. She packed boxes into the venue, she set up my tables with centerpieces (with photos I'd taken for examples! ha) and she hosted everyone like she was meant it. I am so grateful for my mom. I don't know what I would do without her. She is so great. If there was something I wanted for the wedding, she spared no expense no matter what to make sure it was the day that I have always wanted-sans job. These last 2 months have really shown me what an outstanding woman she really is. It didn't matter if she was working or not, or had help or not, she sacrificed things for herself so I could have a perfect day. I hope one day I am able to repay her with all the love and support she has given me. I love my mom so much.

Joy Reese. I'm sure some of you know her. Joy has been my Young Women's President, Primary President, Home Teacher, etc (the list could go on and on). She surged all the table linens I made for each table and helped in the kitchen the day of the wedding. There were also some major issues with the Bishop we had picked to marry us and she stepped in to find us one. With only 1 day till the wedding. She is such a blessing in my life and such a great example. I am forever grateful for the love she has shown me and Scott. I love and appreciate her so much.

Hilairy Diller, my Matron of Honor. My best friend. We have only been friends 5 years,  but it seems like we have been childhood friends. I was sweating like a mad women after 2 hours of pictures and she fanned me like I was a goddess, brought me water, food, helped my go to the bathroom after I got into my wedding dress! (just my luck!) :)  She gave a great speech and helped clean up the venue after the party was over. She is so fantastic and I am lucky to have her as a friend!

Those who came long distances. Over the years I've had friends go here and there, from state to state, etc. It's one thing to talk to a person and stay in contact, it's another thing when those people drive just to share in a few hours of happiness for a person. Brianne, I love you. You  and Kylee being there made my day. You will always be my best friend no matter how old we get. I cannot thank you enough. You are amazing and I love you like a sister, I always have! To my friends Nicole and Jackie, who drove from the Boise area. Thank you. It's friends like you that make this world a better place. I will forever be grateful for your friendship and your love.

And finally, to Scott. My husband. I am lucky to be your wife. I love you more than all the stars in the sky.

All our love,

The Nelsons'

#100

Well, we are 17 days till THE DAY. It's so crazy, overwhelming, exciting... I honestly could go on and on but I won't because I think you all know what I'm talking about! I feel like there are a ton of things to get done, but in reality there isn't too much left to do. I'm still praying for good weather, a few extra prayers for 75 degrees and a slight breeze would be appreciated... HAHA!

May is a huge month for Scott and I. Not only are we getting married, but I turn 25 on Monday and I'm struggling. I think I've struggled with every birthday since I turned 20... I was told yesterday "that's half way to 50". No kidding?! Wanna start digging my grave now? Scott is celebrating his Golden Birthday this year, 26 years old on the 26th. He is totally unfazed by it all. Other than he is totally jacked for insurance discounts. Haha. Men think on a totally different wave length than women do :)

I had my Bridal Shower 2 weekends ago and it was so nice to see people I haven't seen in a while.  It was just kind of an open house thing so it gave me time to actually chat with people. I kinda liked that feel but I didn't really know how anything else operated! Last weekend my MOH had a Bachelorette party for me at her house, tons of food and funny little games. It was nice to spend some quality time with some of my closer girlfriends too. As strange as this sounds, it was so odd for me to be the guest of honor! I am so use to being the party planner, it was nice to just sit back and watch! I appreciate everyone who came, it really meant a lot that people wanted to share in my happiness. You wait for something so so long and never really think it's going to happen and then it does. I really do have great people in my life and I have felt so very blessed through all this wedding craziness. So many people have offered to help with anything and it's gotten me through the last 7 months without pulling my hair out!

Other things besides wedding--Work for Scott and myself is going really well. I really like my job at ISU! Scott just finished up his first job of the season at the new Convention Center in Fort Hall. Now he's on to the bigger I-86 job. He also got moved into his very own office. I'm thrilled about it! Our house is coming along slowly but surely! We are working on the yard-the house sat for 3 years with nothing done to the back yard... a breading ground for any kind of weeds you could think of or make up! They make me crazy!

I am currently in the middle of my practicum, with the reduction of tuition it was going to be crazy of me not to just take summer school and get it out of the way. Which means the light at the end of the tunnel has just become a a dutch door with the top half open, all I need to do is get through this and I am done! It's taken 7 years, but I finally feel like I have a plan for moving ahead and I know now why it took me so long to get through this chapter of my life. If I hadn't of switched to Health Ed there is no way I would be in the spot I am today. Yet another thing I am grateful for!

AND because I am in a good mood, I have more engagement pictures to show you all :)
Sorry if any of these are duplicates!
