Ryk + Mama

Too often I feel like I'm always the one behind the camera taking the pictures of Ryker and Daddy, or just Ryker. So for Mother's Day, Uptown Photography was running a contest and I entered - well as luck would have it myself and another mama won. I was so excited to finally have some nice pictures of just me and my little boy. I think they turned out beautifully! Ryker's personality sure shows through; silly, happy, loving, and then mad toward the end!

I give plugs for Jessamyn ALL THE TIME, but if you're in need of an amazingly talented photographer, please please get in touch with her! She is fantastic. I honestly cannot say enough good about her!

Twenty Seven & Twenty Eight

Scott and I both celebrate our birthday a couple weeks ago. I can't believe I am now 'upper 20's'. When in the world did that happen?? Not to mention Scott is having his 10 year high school reunion in the next couple weeks. Has it honestly been almost 10 years I've been out of high school!? Sickening!

I decided I wasn't going to work on my birthday, and it just so happened my mom had the day off. Ryker, myself, and my mom drove to Downey to put Memorial Day flowers on my grandparents and stop at Brady's Plant Ranch and get some other flowers for our houses. The day was beautiful, we couldn't have asked for a better day to go to the cemetery and clean up the headstone. It was the first time Ryker has ever been to the Downey cemetery.

After we got back into town, my Dad came up to see me and Ryker.

Since Scott and I have birthday's so close together, we decided we would go to Mackenzie River and have dinner.

Not amused :)

Trying to get some of our carrot cake
So on the way home, I always take the old road, I'm just driving down Hawthorne and I can see a vehicle stopped on the side of the road. I'm curious as to what they are looking at since it's all fields out there so I started looking around - I remember thinking, what the hell are they.. Holy hell!! Well, this tornado is what caught their attention!!

Once Ryker and I made it home safely, we enjoyed the rest of our night on the porch till it was time to come inside and get ready for bed.

I guess year number twenty seven won't be so bad after all.

A Month of Pictures

Here is just a little peek at what the Nelson's have been up to in the last month :)

Baby helped Daddy with the baby gate

He also gave himself his first shiner. He got in a fight with a plastic tote. And lost.

He LOVES his Daddy.

Look at that face.. Bawhaha!!

And his Daddy loves him

He wasn't diggin' on this hat

I feel like Ryker really needs this baby wheelbarrow... Don't you think?!

This grin

"See food" diet

My poor baby when he was feeling so crappy.
Makes my heart ache.
But I did love all the extra snuggles he was giving out. They don't come easy nowadays.

So tired, he couldn't even finish his dinner

Backyard progress

Here is a little more of the backyard! We are just sitting around waiting for grass to grow!

Here is the finish grade - just waiting on hydroseed.

Scott decided one Friday night he wanted to build a bench/retaining wall around our fire pit. So the three of us loaded up Saturday morning and went to Idaho Falls to find us some bricks. Scott literally, enclosed the cone liner (fire pit) and built the wall in a couple of hours. He's is so handy and I think the results speak for themselves!! It looks so awesome.
